Sign Compliance & Australian Standards | SignShine
SignShine manufactures standard safety, road and statutory signs to the relevant Australian Standards — correct colours, symbols, layouts and proportions are what make a sign work.
The standards we work to include:
- AS 1319 — Safety signs for the occupational environment (the core workplace standard)
- AS 2444 — Fire extinguisher and fire blanket location signage
- AS 2419.1 — Fire hydrant installation signage
- AS 2293.3 — Emergency escape lighting and exit signs
- AS 1216 / ADG Code — Dangerous goods (hazchem) placarding
- AS 1742 — Manual of uniform traffic control devices (road and traffic signs)
The standard a product is made to is noted on its product page.
Site compliance is the buyer's responsibility. A compliant sign is only one part of a compliant site. The correct sign choice, size, mounting height and placement for your specific situation — plus any requirements under the National Construction Code, WHS regulations or your state/industry rules — are controlled at your site and remain the responsibility of the building owner, occupier or PCBU. Our products come in a range of sizes and materials; not every combination is intended for a specific compliance requirement, but compliant options are available where a standard applies.
