More about construction site signs
Signs you'll find here
These are the signs most often installed in construction sites:
- Site entry boards with builder and emergency contact details
- All visitors must report to the site office signs
- PPE must be worn signs (hard hats, hi-vis, safety boots)
- Danger deep excavation, keep out and no unauthorised entry signs
- Deliveries, forklift and traffic management signs
- First aid, fire extinguisher and assembly point signs
What most building sites put up first
Most sites start with an entry board, a PPE sign and a keep-out sign at each gate, then add hazard signs as work progresses. Save time with a ready-made construction sign pack, or add your own details with custom construction site signs.
Materials and finishing
Every sign is made to order in Penrith NSW and matt-laminated for glare-free reading. Choose the material to suit where it's going:
- Vinyl sticker for smooth indoor surfaces such as doors, glass, walls and equipment.
- Corflute for lightweight outdoor signs on fencing, hoarding and short to medium-term projects.
- Aluminium composite panel (ACP) for a rigid, flat, premium finish on walls, gates and posts.
- Aluminium for the toughest outdoor locations and long service life.
Each material is available reflective or non-reflective, with finishing options such as eyelets, double-sided tape, pre-drilled holes or post-mount holes on most signs.
Delivery and multi-sign orders
Signs are dispatched within 2–3 business days and delivered Australia-wide. Standard delivery is free on orders over $500. Fitting out a whole site or building? Grab a ready-made sign pack, buy 25+ of the same sign to save an extra 5% (50+ save 10%, 150+ save 15%), or see bulk and trade pricing.
Compliance note
Requirements vary by state, building class and site. Your certifier, fire safety engineer, WHS regulator or local authority has the final say on which signs you need and where they go.
Frequently asked questions
Which signs does a construction site need?
It depends on the state, the type of work and the site. Most sites display an entry sign with the principal contractor's details and emergency contacts, PPE signs, and signs for hazards such as excavations, overhead work and plant. Your WHS regulator or principal contractor has the final say.
Which material is best on site fencing?
Corflute is light and easy to cable-tie to temporary fencing. For long builds or windy sites, ACP or aluminium lasts longer.
